Age UK Norwich

Age UK Norwich initially approached us about some simple event support to mark their 80 birthday as a charity. But, as we listened to their incredible story, from founding in WWII to the work they do today, we wanted to push further. We wanted to create a space that genuinely helped Age UK Norwich communicate their value.

We set about designing a space based on a series of interactive 'zones'. Each area worked at a different speed to share an important story, while balancing a careful narrative between hope and the harsher realities still faced in our community.

Going big and bold, Age UK was hard to miss in The Forum. And by getting more eyes on the charity (as well as plenty of media attention), we were able to engage visitors in an experience that made an impact.

Interactivity was key. From a letter writing task to a photo wall, visual content to audio tapes, we engaged (almost) all the senses in an interactive and memorable experience. The result was a space that people spent time in. They absorbed information better than they would've from simply reading a display board. Conversations were prompted, and visitors walked away with new knowledge and Age UK Norwich top-of-mind.

Dan Skipper, CEO of Age UK Norwich, described the exhibition simply as "legendary". He also said:

“[It’s] absolutely amazing. I said “wow” out loud when I walked up the Forum steps. [...] I can't express enough the impact this will have, and it’s been great having you part of our telling our story.”
