Our latest project at Image Experiential has been one of collaboration, creativity, and cause. Many months in the making, this August we’re bringing an exhibition to the Forum for Age UK Norwich, celebrating their 80th birthday as a charity.

The installation tells Age UK’s story, from being formed just before the end of the Second World War, to the action that continues to grow in the present day. By being invited into the story, visitors will learn about some of the challenges we’ll all likely face in life, and what Age UK is doing to change the way we age in Norwich.

It's part of a bigger fundraising exercise, with the Age UK Norwich team aiming to raise £80,000 over the year. They’ve already abseiled the Forum, held a garden party, hosted a 'Palentines' quiz, and teed off with a golfing day, raising over £50,000 so far! By supporting the exhibition, you could help them push that number even further.

Age UK Norwich first approached us about some simple event support almost a year ago. But we don’t do things by halves, and the conversation got us thinking. What if we pushed this further, went bigger and better, and created a full-scale experiential space that made a real splash in the heart of our city?

From exhibition stands to pop-up shops and brand experiences, we've seen experiential marketing bring huge benefits to our clients across sectors, and we wanted Age UK to reap the same rewards.

So, we set about designing a space that doesn’t just tell the story – it actively invites people in. The exhibition has a series of interactive zones; from the family tree, where you can snap a Polaroid with your loved ones, to the Age Friendly Norwich zone, where you can share thoughts and hopes for a kinder, more connected Norwich. The result is a balanced mix of hands-on interactions, opportunities to get involved, and an important message. And with a focus on intergenerational conversation, we’ve made sure there's something for all ages to get involved with together.

From 12:30pm on Monday 4th August to 3pm on Thursday 7th, the exhibition will be live in the foyer of the Forum.

Alongside the exhibition, Age UK Norwich are running a series of talks in the Forum auditorium, as well as providing a private drop-in area for those seeking support.

Making this project a reality has involved a collaborative effort from our entire team, from start to finish. From marketing consultancy to design, to planning and production, to the install itself, the project has been brought to life from end-to-end by our Norwich-based team. We’ve also been lucky to have the support of our friends at CIM, who’ve generously sponsored the production of the signage elements.

We’re thrilled to be showing a flavour of what’s possible with experiential marketing right here in Norwich, in a location as iconic as the Forum. By creating something that stands out and invites people in, the exhibition aims to encourage people to stop, think, and begin to have important conversations about ageing.

But above all, we’re incredibly proud to be shining a light on a charity that’s been doing brilliant things in our community for the last 80 years, and with continued support, will continue to do so for the next 80 too.

If you’re in Norwich between the 4th and 7th August, do stop by the Forum and show Age UK some support. We hope to see you there!
