Wrapping up 2023: A year in review

This time last year, we were looking ahead to 2023 with cautious optimism as events exited their deep freeze. But little did we know quite to what extent the ice would melt.

One of the busiest years in our humble history, we have brought a marvellously mixed bag of creative concepts to life for our clients. So, we thought we’d recap on some of the moments and projects that made this year so extraordinary.

Events were back with a boom

Events were well and truly back with a boom this year, with attendance rates at an all-time high, and global event revenues reaching 97% of 2019 levels.

We told some extraordinary stories

Storytelling-driven exhibition stands grabbed attention across sectors, with Barenbrug’s Clubhouse themed stand and Auction House’s lounge both winning awards at events this year.

We brought brand outdoors

With outdoor events typically involving pop-ups and smaller stands, our exhibition stand for Helix Autosport at Goodwood Festival of Speed and Silverstone Festival was a slight change of gear. We had to think not only about transitioning brand to the space, but also the practical considerations that come from building an exhibition stand outdoors.

European events made a comeback

After a 4 year Covid-induced hiatus, BrauBeviale returned to Nuremberg, Germany this November. We were pleased to support Crisp Malt and Murphy & Son at the busy show, as well as attending Food Ingredients Europe in Frankfurt with Kalsec the same week. Each of the two events had around 1,200 exhibitors (roughly 3 times the number that you’d find at large events in the UK)

We created some extraordinary experiential interiors

The ‘experiential’ has extended further than events. Our retail installation for Natures Menu brought brand and theming together for an immersive, distinctive interior.

By partnering with Ecologi, we avoided 13.5 tonnes of CO2

Partnering with Ecologi, we’ve contributed to a range of climate positive projects on behalf of our clients. Click play on the video below to see what we've been up to.

As 2023 draws to a close, a new era begins

Alongside the projects that we’ve delivered this year, we’ve celebrated some changes here too; from a change in leadership to an updated name and growing our team. You can read about our evolution to Image Experiential here. At the same time, we've continued to provide refreshingly simple consultancy through Image Development, helping our clients to cut through the noise across their brand and marketing.

Looking back on the year, we give our sincere thanks to everyone who supported us in making events extraordinary in 2023. We look forward to bringing more benefits to your experiential marketing in 2024.
